Ventilation and air handling
Ventilation and air handling refer to the processes used to manage indoor air quality and temperature within buildings.
Ventilation involves the intentional introduction of fresh outdoor air to displace stale indoor air, helping to reduce pollutants, humidity, and temperature.
Air handling, meanwhile, involves the use of air handling units (AHUs) that condition and circulate the air within a space.
These units can cool, heat, filter, and humidify or dehumidify the air to maintain a comfortable and healthy indoor environment.
Together, ventilation and air handling ensure that indoor spaces have adequate fresh air, maintain appropriate temperature levels, and promote a healthy atmosphere for occupants.
